Archival Screening Night Submissions

Posted on July 31, 2014

Have you ever encountered material in your collections that you wish you could share with all of your colleagues in the field? Have you ever wished you could watch that print on the big screen instead of on a flatbed? Have you ever wondered how a full theater would react to that unusual test pattern video? If so, consider submitting your findings and preservation efforts to the 2014 edition Archival Screening Night at this year’s AMIA conference in Savannah, GA!

This year’s event will take place on Thursday, October 9th at the Lucas Theatre immediately following this year’s award presentations.

AMIA Archival Screening Night provides members with an opportunity to showcase recent acquisitions, discoveries, and preservation efforts. The Archival Screening Night Group endeavors to create a program that represents the magnificent spectrum of formats, works, and collections protected and preserved by the AMIA community.

  •  Submissions must be no longer than 6 minutes in length, including your brief introduction.
  •  Exhibition formats available this year include: 16mm, 35mm, Betacam SP, Digital Betacam, Apple Pro-Res 4:2:2, 24-bit Audio, and DCP (including 3D!). Please note that the exhibition formats and technical requirements are dictated by the available resources and equipment.
