Meeting: Re-envisioning the Local TV Task Force Working Group
Significant gaps remain in the preservation of local television that AMIA members are grappling with in their collections: specifically dealing with local network affiliated station content and public or cable access channel content, and complicated copyright issues. This working group proposes to address these gaps through evaluating what AMIA and the Local TV Task Force has done before and how we can expand on that work. We will address what the current needs and models are for preservation and access, how to update and provide access to the original database to encourage collection use, and AMIA’s role in the process. The group will produce a white paper disseminated via the AMIA website that will report on all of the above in addition to a glossary of local television production terminology. The paper will outline implementable goals to be assigned to specific committees and/or people, along with deadlines. A recommendation will be made on the potential reinstatement of the Local TV Task Force.

AMIA Membership Meeting
Members and guests are welcome and encouraged to attend the Membership Meeting to hear the annual “State of the Association” report, updates about current projects, and offer special recognition to AMIA members who have gone above and beyond in their service. The open forum provides an opportunity to raise questions not addressed elsewhere in the conference. At the end of the meeting the 2016/7 Board of Directors will take office as we thank departing Board members for their great service to AMIA.

An open meeting for members of the AMIA community who use (or want to learn more about) the open-source software platform CollectiveAccess. Featuring short presentations by archivists from Appalshop, PBCore, and La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss CollectiveAccess with a diversity of other users and to learn about new initiatives to foster a stronger CollectiveAccess user community.

Annual Access Committee meeting. Welcome all regular members, new attendees, and interested folks curious about issues in/around ideas and the practice of moving image/media participation, interactivity and access- to each other, different archival communities all over and to rare and hard to access materials.
The focus of this year’s meeting will revisit some of the ideas from last year- social media platforms, internal archival development towards a more “outreach” approach and ways in which we might try to include our archival colleagues who do not/can not have access of this nature. What can we do?
